Everyone has a light and a dark side, I find, and I am no exception. If you’re looking for all the answers, I do not have them, I’m afraid. If you’re looking for
someone who is happy all the time, I am not, but nor am I always shrouded in darkness.
I’m just a girl, and as long as you don’t ask more of me than you would give of yourself, then we will be just fine. The opinions expressed in this little corner of my world are mine and I would thank you to respect that. I do not demand that you agree with, or even like me, and ask you to extend me the same courtesy. What you see is what you get… unless you take the time to look behind this mask. We all have them, and this one is mine.
I’ll be honest, I have the rather stereotypical poetic tendency of falling into month long binges of unhappy ranting. So, if you’re surprised when I don’t seem like the most cheery person on the face of the planet, do not say that you were not warned. I am a lover of dark literature and poetry, thus is will come a no surprise that I am into the gothic and punk subcultures, though time has mellowed me and I'm almost respectable these days. When I fall, I fall hard, and landing is never easy.
On the reverse, when I am happy, I am blissful. I truly do try and see the good in most, or all, people with whom I come into contact. I believe in the inherent good in man, and always try and believe that people are as beautiful as they have the potential to be. After all, we only live this life once, no matter what happens, or where we go, after. I try to be a good friend, even if I’m not all that skilled at it, and I am very protective of those I love. It's not always easy, but few things in life of value are, I find. When I love, I love completely, as I’m something of an emotional extremeist.
If I had to sum up my life philosophy in one phrase it would have to be, "To everything there is season and a purpose under Heaven." I believe strongly that all things happen for a reason and with purpose, all in their proper time. Just because I can't see the purpose does not mean that it is not there. I am a person of faith, but would never go so far as to say of religion. I believe that everyone must make their own way and follow what path seems best for them. It is their life, after all.
All in all, I am a simple person who enjoys the company of those I love, a good book, and a beautiful afternoon. I ask very little from life other than to be loved, to find peace, and the hope that just maybe I might be able to make the world a more beautiful place in which to live.
I've moved around a lot in recent years, but am now blessed to live in Muskegon, Michigan... not far from the lake shore. I share a house with some of my dearest friends, and of course, my beloved August. He is the light and love of my life... my taskmaster, and eveing fire. Once upon a time I had thought I knew love. He has taught me what love really is. If you notice a light and joy in my writing that was once missing, you can thank him for that. ^_^
I enjoy a wide range of hobbies which include: table top gaming, the 'Game of Thrones' CCG, graphic design, photography, live action role playing, celtic knotwork, and sleeping. Yes, I consider sleep a hobby. *^_^* I would place my writing in the hobby
catigory if it weren't something I take so seriously. However, as I have yet to be paid for it, I suppose a hobby it must remain. I'm also a crazy Halo fan... and worhip at the alter of my XBOX 360 almost daily. (my Gamertag is Ravenfire 117 if you wish to friend me)
I have two brothers (25, and 18), and a sister (16) who mean the world to me. I am blessed in that the four of us are all very close. I'm in the statistic of those whose parents are divorced, but it doesn't bother me. They still do a lot together, so I don't feel like I'm missing anything.

Like the title says (probably badly), school starts soon! as in, tomorrow. Japanese class begins at 9. Should go well. I didn't place into level three, but I didn't expect to; Level Three goes beyond the Genki books, and I've only completed half of Genki 2 (and it was not my best semester, either, so I badly need the review before moving on...Takagi-sensei is a lot of things, but a good advanced-class-teacher she is not, bless her heart.) So I'll be in Level Two, which I hear is a lot of fun and has the best teacher anyway. Levels Three and Four have nicknames. Level Three is "Zannensei", which is a play on "Sannensei". "Zannen" means "Unfortunate" and "Sannen" means, in this case, "Third Year". Level Four is "Shinensei," which is another play on words. "Shi" is another reading for the kanji for four, more commonly said as "yon" because "Shi" can also, depending on how it's written, mean "death". Which is how it's written in "Shinensei" here. So yeah...XD First Year, Second Year, Unfortunate Year, and Death Year.
The people here are all pretty cool. There's another girl from Tech here - gasp! - who by a very strange coincidence is also from the Metroplex and has about as much school spirit as I do (i.e. about as much as a rock in a zen garden). Her name is Sarah. There are, in fact, two Sarahs here, so there's Sarah from Texas and Bleach-Sarah (so called because she, like me, is a bit of a Bleach addict ^^;) My roommate is a lovely Japanese girl named Tamika attending the English program here; we've made an agreement to kind of help each other with the two languages, since she's learning English and I'm learning Japanese. She said she'd teach me some Kansai-ben, too :D so that's awesome.
There's really not much else to say right now, not much has happened. I found a video game that's about as addictive as DDR; it's a taiko (drum) game that Lindsey showed me when we went on a bike tour of Hikone. The tour was cut short by a sudden shower of sleet/rain/snow/we're not really sure which. It reminded me of Lubbock XD It's also windy here, and the weather is about the same as it is in Lubbock right now, only wetter because so far it's precipitated in some form every day I've been here. Lake Biwa is absolutely lovely; there's a really nice view from Apple Hall, the academic building. There's an island we can see from the school that apparently has nothing but a school on it; there are children who ride a ferry to and from school every day, which I think is kinda cool.
I seem to have acquired a persistent cough and congestion issue, but the congestion at least seems to be easing up. The cough is annoying, but I don't think I'm sick. It's kind of hard to tell, since I'm not eating as much as I'm used to back home so I persistently feel off. Hopefully it'll go away once I've acclimated; I've been in the country for barely a week, after all. I think this weekend I'll do a little sightseeing around Hikone; there are some shrines and temples here in town and of course Hikone-jou, which is like tne minutes' bike ride from the Center. I'm also going to try to make it down to see Azuchi and maybe Osaka-jou (though that would be expensive...it's 1,800-someodd yen to get from Osaka to Hikone). I also want to get down to Sekigahara, Yamazaki, and Sugimoto-jou, Akechi Mitsuhide's castle that's on the oppose shore of the lake. I love Kansai, it's where all the history is :D Though if I get into the Jet Program, I'll be able to do more travelling and get up to Echigo and Ueda and see the sights up there; and let's not forget Tokyo and its castle ^^;

Sometimes it's difficult to suggest new places to eat with friends, but so far I'm 3xWin with new friends.
Asian Buffet = Win (So many types of chicken, they couldn't eat each kind.)
Buffalo Wild Wings = Win (Honey BBQ FTW)
Pizza Hut's Creamy Chicken Alfredo = Win (Next to home-made, one of the best they've had, and it was delivered. ^.^)
My choices will eventually fail, but so far I'm good. :)
(Fricano's is something I will eat at their place, but did not seem appetizing to those I was with.)

So for about 2 days now my xbox 360 has been locking up when I play modern warfare 2... I can play for about 10 minutes, then the screen will just lock up. I thought maybe... hey maybe my xbox is dusty and is over heating... so I cleaned out the xbox and moved it some where it would get better air flow to it... same thing... then I thought hey maybe it's just the game? so I played a game that was strictly on my hard drive from the marketplace... I was able to play that game just fine for 30+ minutes, then I decided I would give modern warfare a try... and same thing... frozen... next I figured... I would change outlets incase of a bad current, and such... but next... i turned on my xbox and it froze in the same exact way while on the home screen... any suggestions to what may be wrong with my xbox? I will attach a picture so everyone can see exactly what the screen looks like when freezing...

You know that sound your computer makes when you plug in something USB related? Well a few nights ago mine did that... while it was in sleep mode. I was dozing and I recall it doing this... But I was too tired to get up and see what was up... Now, everything was fine and then I go to listen to some music and several files won't play. I should mention in the last few days I've had this messege pop up that drive G:\ couldn't be found but I was looking at it and currently using files...
So... *holds back panic puke* I rebooted and everything came up okay BUT... BUT... drive G is saying it's corruprted and unaccessible... My soul is slowly leaking out of my ears... If this is TRUE and final I have literally lost every single thing I've done/saved/downloaded/and DRAWN for the last ... well 5 years. Unless I've done it in the last 6 months it's gone. I'm almost glad I didn't back up the files and delete them off of my PC. Okay, my heart is trying to claw it's way up my throat. I am so upset that I feel numb. Something in the back of my head kept telling me to check this out because I kept getting that error messege when I'd restart but a friend of mine said he got that sometimes but everythign was fine. AND everything would come up and I was like "Wtf is wrong with my computer...?". I haven't had a harddrive crash since I bought this external one. It's one of those behemoth sized Maxtor external HDs and it's never let me down. *enhales slowly* I feel ill... I know you're supposed to start the new year with a clean slate but not THIS clean.
Instead bursting into tears I did some research and apparently so long as I don't fuck with anything it's POSSIBLE to recover the files. I guess this happens often? I haven't touched anything and I don't know what could have causeed this. I do remember the HD being a bit hotter than usual a few days ago though so I ejected it and shut it off to let it cool down. Everything was fine. I haven't really DONE much with everything that was on it for a while. It's just a place I put everything. But I REALLY want everything that's on here BACK. There's art on there I've never shown anyone and the idea of starting them over... *dies a little inside*. The music files and anime I can replace in a few days. If I can fix this it won't be for a while... Should I unplug it? I feel like if I even look at it I'll ruin any chances of fixing this...
Any suggestions? *makes note to hit up the liquor store later today* God... This is not okay. I'm not emotionally stable enough for this kind of thing. I'm just glad it WASN'T anything current because I've been working my ass off. Now I'm scared to put anything on my OTHER external HD... >__>.
OH yeah I have the internet now ^_^. Depending on how I feel I'll try to upload something but I have a strong feeling my desire to draw will die once I wake up and realize this wasn't a dream. *sigh*
Okay I need to go to bed. I'll feel better and less suicidal after this has set in.

Ungh, my brain hurts. Lately I'm able to doze off for anywhere from 2-4 hours at a time with no effort. Just laying down makes my body think "short coma". I'm not complaining. I'll take sleep when I can get it because I don't get much. The problem is I get their weird headaches... I wonder if they're sleep induced headaches from not sleeping very long or very deeply. I don't feel groggy at all so I don't know what could be causing them. They pass after a while but they really hurt while I have them :<...
In anycase another commission bites the dust! WHOOT! I fail at mirrors though. And still kinda sorta at backgrounds. I used a reference pic for this one so it's not too bad. I'll be posting some art this weekend as I am NOW on my computer and decently paced internet connection. It's just dial up since that all I can afford at the moment but it's BETTER than nothing ^o^! Now to start uploading this high-res file. I imagine this'll take a while >_>...
Wow it's WEIRD seeing dA on my computer again after all this time. I can SEE everything :O!!
